5/24/09 FPGA Meeting, Wellborn, FL

Persons present: Mike and Becky Swafford, Randy and Paula Arnold, Claudia Stewart, Michelle Tucker, Robert and Nora Trincado, Pete and Jamie White, Chris Rowley, Matt Burton, John Paxton (Paula’s nephew).

Meeting began at 3:15 PM.

Becky began by letting us know that election of officers is due!

Pete nominated Mike Swafford for President, Jamie seconded it, all were in favor. Mike nominated Nora for Vice President, Pete seconded it, all were in favor. Becky has agreed to remain as Treasurer and Jamie has agreed to remain as secretary.

There will be a Mississippi show October 10 & 11, 2009.

Fall Bra-awl will be Oct 17, 2009 in Wellborn at Swafford’s Farm. This will be a double show.

Chris and Matt will run the silent auction at the Fall Bra-awl. Thanks Chris and Matt!

Everyone is asked to try to get donations from your feed store for the raffle.

Chris brought up playing nanny berry bingo. This is a fundraiser where you have squares on a piece of plywood and each square is $1. There are 40 squares. The square with the most poop on it gets half the money, the rest goes to the club.

Becky suggests giving a break on entries for club members.

Super Bowl show - Last Saturday of January 2010 to be held in Wellborn, FL at the Swafford‘s Farm.

Are we doing a spring show next year? This is up in the air. Dates suggested are April 24 or May 1, 2010.

Paula made a motion to raise the entry fees to $8 a goat for our shows. Claudia seconded the motion. All were in favor.

Paula made a motion that entries need to be snail mailed or emailed one week ahead of time or the entry fee will be $10 each goat the day of the show. Randy seconded the motion. Substitutions will be allowed. Paula explained how difficult it is to write in several last minute exhibitors who bring 10 or 12 goats. This is the reason for the increase in price, to encourage them to sign up early.

Michelle has agreed to be our webmaster! Thank you Michelle!

Stephanie Anderson has volunteered to be our historian. Thank you Stephanie!

Paula made a motion that if Stephanie and her crew puts on a show in Sarasota in December, the FPGA will offer to sanction another show the same day. Tentative date is Dec 12/13, 2009. Becky will call Stephanie and speak with her about it.

In addition, Paula would like to put out a can for donations for the soda because most people don't know it is donated by members and not purchased by the club.

Pete voted to adjourn meeting at 3:55 PM.
